Brief Description:  Horizontal Stab Leading Edge

Today I stared on the leading edge of my "new" stab piece. I got out my router and coped the edge of the oak forming block. I didn't have a 7/8th round-nosed bit, bit I do have a 3/4. With a little manipulation and tweaking, I got really, really close to a good 7/8ths radius.

Once that was done, I picked a spot on the table to anchor the block and top stop. The block is centered on a cross support in the table and used long deck screws to make sure it didn't move, .049 tubing is kinda tough to bend. The top stop takes less force, but since it was only anchored to plywood, I put about 6 deck screws in there. The blocks held up fine.

With some careful tweaking and bending, I was able to get a good lie on the line that I drew before. Now all I have to do is to trim the ends and make another one identical to that one.
