I took the fin to the monthly EAA Chapter 975 meeting last night and we stripped off the fabric. It was aii done in sections, bay by bay from each side. The fabric was pretty tough to get off, so they did a good job in that respect. What was disappointing was the drain grommets. They only cut a small slit at each grommet, through at least two layers of fabric. Any water trapped inside had no hope of ever getting out. the back third on the bottom was rusty, but I'm not sure if I need to scrap the whole thing or just do some repairs. After sandblasting I'll re-evaluate.
