Today I was able to resolve the electrical problems in the barn and all the house projects are DONE! Easter weekend is here, but I hope to get something done anyway.
I got the shear blades adjusted and it was like a pair of scissors. The manual tells you to cut a wide sheet of thick paper and adjust accordingly. I didn't have a big sheet of paper, but I have tons of manilla shipping tags. I used them instead and adjusted the shear so it would cut the tag cleanly from one side to the other taking a thin slice each time. It actually took quite a bit of finessing with a .002 and .003 feeler gage.. It almost seemed like I was tuning a piano instead of adjusting a piece of machinery! But, when it was done it sliced through a thin sheet of mild steel like it was nothing! That same metal just folded over before the blades were sharpened with the blades even closer together. All in all I'm glad to have it done. It needed a tune up badly and now it cuts square and with precision, leaving a burr-free cut.
