Another suggestion was to mark, cut and reinforce the flap cable penetrations. I had made templates for the exterior locations, but not for the inside as I was still undecided what I was going to do. I got a piece of 1/8th in welding rod and using the rod and a light I was able to get a very close approximation as to where the cable will pass through. Once marked and punched, I fed a piece of cable though to ensure the location was correct. It worked out great and I glued on the doilies. I’ll get my xacto knife and soldering iron out to complete the job in a few days.
