I cut off the trim tab bushings on the trim tabs and the elevator. I left a bit of the bushing on the elevator to provide some spacing (.058 tubing). I welded on new bushings to the trim tabs and put a .050 metal spacer underneath. This should yield about an additional 3/16ths to the trim tab gap. The tan stuff is Heat Fence. It should help minimize damage to the fabric.
