Brief Description:  Built Wing Cradle

Notified by the shipper, Tony Partain, that my Quick Build Wings and Fuselage will be picked up from Van's in Oregon tomorrow. I'm guessing it should be here in about 5 days. Before I left for work last week Pop downloaded the plans for a wing cradle. This is a rolling, storage rack to hold the 2 wings when you aren't working on them and until it's time to attach them to the fuselage. Pop picked up the supplies and went by Allen's (a local RV-7 builder) to make a template of the cross-section of one of his wings. When I got home today he had the parts cut out and ready for assembly. Nice way to come home, huh? Pop made the cutouts about 1/4 inch larger than the wings to allow for the thickness of the carpet. We put together the cradle according to the plans and secured the carpet in the cutouts that will hold the leading edge of the wings and the wing spars. Put the cradle on wheels so it will be easy to move around.
