Today was dedicated to priming the pieces of the horizontal stabilizer. I scrubbed the pieces with Alumi-Prep and then rinsed them and hung them up to dry. I attached a tag to each piece because the AlumiPrep removes the part number and orientation (LH or RH) so I would know which part went where once they were primed. Then I mixed up 2-part Variprime, a self etching primer and sprayed it on with a HVLP spray gun. This stuff has some potent vapors so I used a respirator, gloves and safety glasses.
Parts have been cleaned with Alumi-Prep, rinsed and hung up to dry.
