Brief Description:  Wing rigging

Now that the wings are in the aircraft I began the process of setting them level and with the correct incidence. This is not a one man job but being that I am without assistance I guess I'll have to do. There is a serious amount of checking, double checking, etc. This requires a great deal of physical labor; I am quite tired tonight.

I initially leveled the aircraft which was problematic because my driveway is seriously sloped and has been subjected to decades of frost heaves. Used my electronic level and was as exact as I could be.

Made the spars/wings equal distance from fuselage skin. Did not have to trim any skin by the way. Used a taunt string to verify symmetry (per plans).

Replaced the Aft spar tunnel- not sure why but the plans call for it.

Placed the rear spar carry through. Adjusted for correct incidence by blocking up the aft wing; had heart failure initially as instead of a measurement of 3 3/32 I was using 3 5/8. Not sure why I had that in my head. It is not possible to raise the aft wing to a point 3 5/8 inches above the bottom skin thus my heart issue.

Pinned the aft spar to the carrythrough and placed the attach angles. Attached the shear web -akward to drill. Put in minimum pilot holes and will drill out remaining ones on the bench.

That's it. That is as far as I got for 8.5 hrs. Next is actually drilling up the main spar attachment blocks. This is worrisome.
