Brief Description:  Control pushrods and cables

Attached elevator horn to pushrod. Very limited access and there is a need to file away some material to assure full range of travel. This took much longer than I would have liked. I discovered that you really can not get that pushrod into the fuselage without removing the first pushrod support channel. Perhaps it did but it would have been nice if the manual said not to rivet this thing until the pushrod was in! Drilled out the rivets for the support and then once the rod was in, re-riveted.

Fabricated the C01-04 rudder cable fairings. Did not like the way they came out per Sonex plans. I re-did them as I had recently read in a Sport Aviation (or perhaps Kitplanes) magazine. It is amazing how you can spend so much time on such a small thing. I like these much better although I doubt anyone will ever say " Wow, those are really nice cable fairings".

Installed the pre-swaged rudder cables. Of course they would not pass through the previously placed fairleads. So, had to pop off the retainer band on the four primary fairleads. This was really painful as it was hard to reach and those things are on well. It cost me a fingernail in the process. Oh well, its not the first bit of blood I've shed with this project.

Installed my really cool rudder cable fairings.

Fabricated the R/L rudder cable adjusters. Difficult to install because the AN 4 bolt will not pass through the tubing it is supposed to go through. There is powdercoating inside the tube; it might even be undersized also. Very difficult to get a drill bit into it as the rudder pedals are installed and NO WAY am I going to take them out. I broke one of my threaded 1/4 bits for my angle drill - don't have any extras. I'll have to make a run to Ak Industrial Hardware tomorrow.
