When I had initially built my seat I noticed that the top hinge was extremely difficult to place. It was off almost 1/8 inch. Don't know why but an obvious error. I was thinking that it would pull together but there is no eartlhy way. Moving the hinge on either the cross tie or seat was out of the question. So, instead of completely remaking the seat pan (sling) I amputated the top 3 inches. Attached an overlapping new and straight segment and placed a new hing half. Now it fits perfectly although it does look a bit Frankensonian. Oh well, it is not a visible area.
