Brief Description:  Horizontal stab struts

I was debating which end of the strut to make first - on the CD Russ made the stabilizer end first and in the manual Eric made the fuselage end first. I decided I liked Eric’s plan because I figure it would be easier to match drill the stab end with just one hole with the strut clamped in place. Eric’s method worked great.

With the bottom of the strut (fuselage end) made and bolted to the strut attach point I marked the bend for the stab end with the strut held in position. Basically you just hold the strut in position and make a mark on the bottom side of the strut lined up with the inboard side of the bushing for the attach point on the stab. Then I made the bend using the method that Russ shows on the CD. The one thing I did different is I cut a slot on the edges like Eric did. With the angle bent and the edges welded I clamped and match drilled the strut to the stab. Next I welded the 970 washer on then trimmed the end and welded it closed.

Both struts are made and fit.
