Brief Description: Landing light lens backing ring
I made the backing ring for the light lens. It took a little trial and error because I couldn't remember the steps I did it on the other wing. I had to make it twice. That's part of the problem taking so long to get to the next wing.
1) First thing I did rough cut the backing rings (no cut out in the middle yet). Then I bent the nose shape into it and outlined the outside edge of the lens on it. 2) Next I match drilled the lens to the backing plate then cut and deburred the outside edge of the backing plate to match the lens. 3) Now with the holes located I clecoed the top side of the backing plate to inside of the wing cutout and marked the cutout location on the backing plate. 4) Next I clecoed the bottom half of the backing plate (the top half is not cleacoed at this point) to the bottom half of the wing cutout and marked it. 5) Now I had the hole cut out location marked on the backing plate and cut and deburred to now have a "backing ring".
