Brief Description:  Left wing ready to rivet!

I finished deburring, dimpling and fitting the skins for the left wing. I've done enough dimpling and deburring to last me a while. I'm ready to do something else now! I was able to reach all the holes with the Avery 22" C frame for dimpling. I was expecting to not be able to reach some of the holes. On one panel I barley had the reach to get the center row but it did reach.

The cut out for the aux tank filler neck fits well. I was a little concerned about if there was enough sticking up though the skin but once I put the panel on it fits even better than the main tank. It got me wondering if maybe I should file down the neck on the main tank so it doesn't stick out as far.

Now that the left wing is ready for rivets it's time to move on to the right wing. I've decided I'm not going to rivet the left wing skins yet because I think it will be easier to work on the right wing if the left wing isn't all put together. Plus I can think better if I can see the right wing from my work table. So I'm actually going to remove all the skins from the left wing and store them until I'm ready to rivet. That will prevent any shop rash too.

My next step will be to give the garage a good cleaning so I can get to the right wing as easy as possible. That side of the shop has accumulated some clutter so it will help to get things better organized.
