I worked on the remaining inspection ports. The big one over the aileron bellcrank was a little tricky using the cover and flange as a mounting jig. First I marked where the rib crosses through the cover. Then using 2 backing flanges matched them to the cover and cut each one to the required length. I could only screw one side of the backing flange on to the mounting plate then position it over the hole. Prior to that I taped the other backing flange to the inside of the hole. Once the cover was in position I screwed the other side to the other backing plate so both were attached. Then just followed the same procedure of drilling the holes into the backing flange.
I’ve gone through a lot of nut plates! I’ll have to make sure I have enough for the other wing…
