I followed the directions provided for installing the lens and have figured out that I'll have to make some changes to make it work in a Bearhawk. The top bracket will work but the bottom one won't. The bottom bracket needs to be positioned behind the lens and secured with screws. The issue is you can't access the area from behind. The RV10 must have more space to reach that area from behind.
I think I'll permanently attach the .063 strip to the bottom without the .025 backing to act as a stiffener and alignment. I'm also going to install a backing ring as shown on the Bearhawk CD. I'm not going to spend the time to actually make the backing ring for the mock up but I did drill and cleco the lens to the skin.
I'd say it's been worth the time to make the mock up to figure out what will work. Now I'll move on to the wings...
