Brief Description:  Drill skins to main spar

I'm at the point where I need to drill the skins to the main spar. I removed all the skins because I wanted to recheck the frame for level and square. I figured the best way to do it was remove the skins. I've had a plumb bob on the out board of the wing and have been checking it everyday so I know there is no twist. Moving around the wings the legs get bumped once in a while so I just want to make sure every point is level. Once you drill the main spar the wing is locked in.

I shot it with the laser level and only made a couple minor adjustments to the legs then put the skins back on. With the skins off I router cut the inspection hole for the strut attach bracket. (I still forgot to drill the doubler on the inboard .032 skin.) With the skin back in position I drilled and clecoed the main spar at the bottom and then the top of the wing.

I also started fitting the main fuel tank cover. I predrilled the top of the panel then drilled and clecoed it to the wing. I'll have to remove the top panel and back drill the sides. For the bottom side (aft) I'm planning to pre drill the panel again and with the panel aft of the fuel tank in position drill both to the wing at the same time.
