Brief Description:  Inboard .032 skin

In trying to determine if the wing root doubler is riveted on both ribs or just one it looks like it's been done both ways. The kits rivet both ribs and I figure that's the conservative approach so I'll do the same. Another good point made by Eric Newton is to allow room for nut plates to attach the gap strips between the wing and the fuselage. I hadn't thought that far ahead so that's some good advice. After looking closer I've decided to place the nut plates at every 3rd hole location or every 4 1/2" on the inboard rib.

With that all sorted out I drilled the holes for the inboard edge of the .032 inboard panel. With that attached I marked the outboard edge and took the panel off the wing. I drilled those holes then trimmed all the edges to final size. I put the panel back on a drilled and clecoed it. Then I put the overlapping panel on and drilled those holes and clecoed it with Andrea's help again.

I'm going to put all the panels back on now before setting the bottom panel. I realized as I was attaching the other panels that I forgot to drill the outboard rib of the wing root doubler. I'll have to go back and do that. One other thing I did was drill the holes around the pitot mounting bracket to rivet the skin to the backing plate.
