I cut the four 2-5/16" bearing tubes. After cleaning up the ends I drilled them out with a 5/8" drill bit on the bearing end. Then I welded the cap on the other end. Two caps are .062 and the other two are .072.
I started putting one of the inboard hinges together in the jib. I spent some time grinding the long tube for one side to size. I managed to screw it up and realized I don't have a whole lot of extra material. I have just enough left for the four 3/8 x .049 pieces. I took a little more time grinding and fitting the first piece. I got as far a getting one side fit and tack welded. I decide to order a little more material just in case.
As I was finishing up for the day I managed to burn my fore arm pretty good. Actually it was more like a good branding! Ouch! I have a tattoo of an aileron hinge on my fore arm now…
