Brief Description:  Final assembly of ailerons

I actually started yesterday but I was spinning my wheels, so after about an hour and a half I quit. I was too tired after getting home at 4:00 am.

Things started to click a lot better today. The only hold up was I had forgotten the sequence that I had assembled the flaps so I read back though my log. I had written incorrectly when I said that I put the shop head was on the back of the spar. I started to do that and it wasn't working very well. So I went over and looked at the flaps and realized I had written it wrong. The manufactured head is on the back of the spar.

I didn’t rivet the gussets over the hinge areas yet. After reading forward into some others that had already put the flaps and ailerons on there wings it looks like it’s better to leave the gussets off for now. I wish I would have caught that before I did the flaps. The kits come with them off too.

Andrea got into the action too. She pop riveted the nose skin and balance tubes on. She enjoyed that. Now she want of know what airplanes can be built completely with pop rivets. I showed her a few online and now she wants to build a CH701! And she wants to know when we can start…

Ailerons are done.
