Brief Description:  Setting right wing aileron/flap

"The flap was bugging me all night because the middle hinge was needing some coaxing to get the bolt in. I took a closer look at it first thing and decided to try a thin washer under the bottom foot. That did the trick - it lines up perfectly now. I think it helps to bolt the two end hinges then check the center. Even though I didn't notice any binding it wasn't lining up perfectly.

I then worked on the aileron. With the bit brazed to the tubing drilling the bottom foot on the outboard hinge was the next step. Using the same procedure as the flap I located and attached the hinge mounts. I only clecoed the aileron gussets when I put them together and it made it a lot easier to set them up with the gussets off.

With the flap and aileron mounted on the wing I double checked everything for alignment. Then I took everything apart again, cleaned up the rod end bearing shanks then used Locktite red and put the bearing back in the hinge and put everything back together again. Once again checking everything one last time then left it to sit for 24 hours. That's going to be painful! I want to get started on the other wing but I'm going to have to wait."
