Brief Description:  Jig & right spar frame

I attached the steel angles to the posts for the jig so the main spar is 60" off the floor. I then made and attached the 1" tubing bracket for the outboard end of the wing. In hind sight I wish I would have welded the bracket onto the steel angle before I mounted it to the post. With the heating of welding it on it was off by 1/4" so I tried heating and moving it into position. I could only correct it to within 1/8". I'll just shim it as necessary. I used a laser level to set both ends.

I laid out the right wing spars on the floor and clamped the flap and aileron support frames into position. I also clamped the center double rib at the wing root. I then lifted the frame into position on the jig. After the frame was in position I clamped a support leg under the location of the flap and aileron support frames. Then I clamped the outboard end rib into position.

Note: I later discovered that I should have allowed more room between jig ends. The skin hangs over the outboard rib by 5/8". See "Wing Skinning" log.
