Brief Description:  Rear spar rib attach angles

I finished locating and drilling the pocket rib angles on the right rear spar. Andrea dissembled the right rear spar in preparation for priming. I reassembled the left spar and located and drilled most of the rib and pocket rib attach angles.

As I worked on the left side I decided I will need to make some changes on some of the right spar attach angles. When I was locating the "backward" pocket rib angles I positioned the rib on the wrong side of the flange. I had the rib butting up to the inside corner of the attach angle rather than butting up to the spar caps. That would result in a .032 mismatch with the other ribs. So I'll go back and reassemble the right side and make the correction. I also did the same at the wing root double rib so I'll go back and make that change too. It seems to me that all ribs should be butted up directly to the spar caps or end plate in the case of the wing root.

I also realized I didn't account for the end plate thickness when I sized my ribs at that location so my ribs there are too long. In the case of the center doubler rib I'll need to trim the plate thickness off of both ends. I guess it better too long than too short!

NOTE! FLASH FORWARD 6/10/07: Later when I was assembling my wings in the jig my flap drive root support tube was too tight to the center rib doubler. I had to move the right wings center rib attach angle at the root about 3/32" to accommodate the flap drive support tube.
