After welding the stop rings to the control stick they were a little stiff in the forward and aft motion. I presented the issue to the group and Scott Weinberg led me in the right direction. I thought it was friction between each bearing and the 1-1/8" tube because each bearing was individually tighter after welding. Scott suggested that it probably was becasue the bearings were not aligned to each other. He was right. After unbolting one bearing the stick rotated without friction. I was able to isolate the issue to the left aft tab that bolted to the mounting bracket. It was slightly off just a tad and did not sit flat. I figured that out because when I bolted it by itself it lifted the other end. A little tweaking of the tab and it corrected the problem.
The next step is to make and install the elevator bell crank. I made both sides and welded the washers on. After welding they needed a little tweaking to flatten. After tweaking I cut the holes in the middle.
