I finished the parts I needed to weld the first assembly together. I cut a couple 1-1/16" blocks to bolt the mounting brackets to for welding the tube on. I made 2 lines on the table at 18" apart then using a level for a straight edge I screwed the blocks to the table. I cut an angle on another block to secure on the inside of the brackets to hold them in the correct position for welding. Then I welded the assembly together.
I started working on the sticks. I tried making the top bend as a cold bend but I didn't like the results. It wasn't a nice tight bend like I wanted so I decided to try a hot bend. I couldn't find any reference to what others had done but based on some pictures it looks like a hot bend. It took me a few tries to get what I was looking for but I did get two good bends for two sticks. I went through most of the rest of my 7/8" x .049 tubing so I may need to order a little more for my rudder pedals.
