Brief Description:  Project reflection

Well, I was setting here doing my last three log entries and for some reason I decided to look back thru the log to review the work that has been done since I started about a year and a half ago. I am sure glad that I have kept this log up as it is a great motivator to me to be able to see my progress. A lot of people ask me when I think I will be finished and I usually will say a year from now. It is so hard to say. To be honest, I am doing something I have never done before and is very hard to estimate how long it will take for me figure out every section as I progress. I can say one thing for sure, it really doesn’t matter to me how long it takes to finish, as I am really enjoying the building process and will probably miss the satisfaction I get with completing each section when the project is finished. The time I spend working on the plane is very similar to flying; they are both great escape from daily stresses and are great ways to clear the mind. I have learned that working on a project like this it requires priorities and balance. You must keep 1st things first. God, family, friends, work, house work, yard work, honey doos, and then plane work. That is if you want to be successful in all areas. It is a daily struggle to keep these in order for sure. It’s funny to me to look at the beginning pictures and see how clean my work bench was. It is at times now when I finish up working on a section I will clean up things and organize the tools. But more times than not is it a little messier than I wish it was. I guess that the sign of progress. To see how my daughters have grown and change too is also a reminder of my priorities as well. I know my girls will never forget the time that their crazy Dad learned to fly and built an airplane in the garage. I think it is really important for your children to watch you work on your goals and work like crazy to make your dreams come true. That is what I call enjoying and living life.
