Finished up the right hand forward console. Only worked with Tom for 20 minutes on Saturday. 2 guys, 20 minutes, 3 tough rivets. Uggggggg.
On Monday and Tuesday I wrapped up the console and started mounting the horizontal stabilizer.
Per the instructions, to line up the stabilizer yaw wise, you need to measure from a rivet on the tail cone to the horizontal stab tip on each side. They give a tolerance of 1/4". Seemed odd to me to have such a large allowance, but when I measured mine, if I center the tips, were centered, the front center of the stab assembly would be up against the tail cone on one side. Center the assembly, and the tips are out by 1/4". Doesn't seem right to me, but it must be common, hence the large allowance.
I'll check with the folks on the Van's Air Force site before I drill the front attach bolt holes.
