Moving very slowly at this stage in fear of screwing something up.
The manual from Van's gives you a method of aligning and drilling the mounts using plumb bobs but doesn't really give you the parameters you need to hit.
Again relied on the most excellent "Vansairforce.net" forums for the answers.
In order of importance.
#1 faces of axel mounts MUST be paralell. #2 axels must be perpendicular to the air frame center line. #3 both axels should line up with each other lengthwise.
Armed with this data, I can make sense of the measuring and get the job done right.
measuring between the front and back of the angles clamped to the axel faces will insure they run true
