Spend a couple of hours a day for the last 3 days shaping, edge finishing and priming rudder skin stiffeners.
First back riviting. I don't have the right tools, so I've ordered a back ribeiting set and a more suitable steel plate from Avery's.
I had a tough time getting the most aft rivet into the stiffeners as i can't bend the skin out of the way enough. Tried 2 rivets and drilled them both out. If I bend the skin far enough out of the way, then the surface against the bucking plate lifts off and the rivet doesn't fit flush. I'm going to get a piece of bar stock and turn it into a sort of a cantelever rivet beater.
I'm held up on the skin waiting for the new tools.
