Brief Description:  Right Tank Testing

Testing the right tank for leaks using my newly constructed tank pressure tester. Using the compresser set at a low pressure like 5 psi. This lets the pressure come up very slowly in the tank via the schrader valve. I set the pressure to 2 psi and then checked the pressure and temp to see if there are any changes. The first pressure up yielded a steady drop. Indicating a leak somewhere. Using a concentrated solution of dish soap and water and a small paint brush, I painted the fitting and found several massive leaks. The biggest one on the test rig itself. Spent some time chasing leaks and tightening fittings. Finally the pressure did not fall. wrote the pressure and temp down and let it set.
9-22-07 2 psi 56F, 9-23-07 1.9 psi 54F, 9-25-07 2.05 psi 57F. After three days of pressure the temp varied and the pressure did not fall. I think this is a great test and the right tank is leak free.
