Brief Description:  Rebuild the Firewall mount

Today was a big day, my wife is in Kansas with her mother so I have all weekend to get this fuselage ready to drill. pulled the firewall and cleaned up the 3/4 pads, cut and drilled two 3/4X3/4 aluminum cross mounts for the Firewall. Remounted the firewall leveled it and plumbed it. I had to use 1/6" on the upper left and lower right to get the vertical plumb and had no problem getting 3" distance on top angle and level. So the firewall is exactly to within 1 tenth of a degree of level and plumb and exactly 3" above FRP. Now I need to get the centerline reestablished so I measured everything again, but this time I clamped a 54" long 1-1/2" square alum tube to the firewall and took two measuring tapes from the ends to create an isosolies triangle to the tail bulk head. Low and behold my original centerline is 1/2" off of perfect. WOW so I re set the centerline and all the bulk heads. The forward floor now meets the 801PP firewall very nicely, the spar centersection is directly over the C/L. Everything is lining up as per plan. I went to bed very satisfied with the accomplishment for the day.
