Brief Description:  Intro II

I had spent some time "learning", practicing on some scrap 4130 tubing, and also realizing it was possible to weld aluminum. I was still firmly thinking along the lines of scratch building, but soon realized the most prolific builder was building assemblies at 3 times faster than my speed. Started to realize "time" vs. "money"... well, didn't have a lot of either. A friend had been after my FJ40 Land Cruiser, which was restored a few years back. Didn't really want to sell the Land Cruiser, but will admit it was way too nice for hard core off road trails. Hmm. Also had a pile of Datsun OEM parts for "some day" restoration, parts I had bought back in the 1970's as spares. Didn't take long to realize that if I cleaned out the garage, the quick build kit was a reality. Better yet the folks at avipro will sell major sub assemblies. Spars and Wing Ribs are very time consuming, yet they were offering both for a very reasonable price. Bare fuselages are also available. The Avipro folks make life much easier for those of us on a tight budget, and limited time! Bearhawk it is!
