Installed rear horizontal stabilizer spar reinforcement bars by riveting them to the rear spar c-sections. Once again, I nominate the pneumatic rivet squeezer for Tool of the Century. Made the task very easy and every rivet looked uniform and to spec.
Stood back to take in the beauty of my work and tell myself how easy this airplane building thing was going to be. So proud, I had my wife Susie take my picture!
Reviewed the next step in the builders manual.....uh-oh. I had riveted through the four center holes where the center bearing assembly was supposed to be bolted. I get to drill out my first rivets on the real airplane! I'm sure these will be the last..... Yeah, right.
Decided to get a good nights sleep and start fresh on another day.
Pride is one of the seven deadly sins. Maybe I need to put that on a banner in my shop!
