Brief Description: Back riveting elevator skin - problems.
I was wondering if the -3.5 rivets were too long, but reading forums everyone was doing fine with them, but just cound't get it right. I figured that I could just use the bucking bar and the "red mushroom" rivet gun fitting, so I did that. I got all the stiffeners in place on the right elevator but had a few problems with a few bad rivets. I drilled them out, but the bend ones always had elongated holes. I used the next rivet size up, enlarged the hole and went with that. Still, not totally happy with the flatness of the skin on the elevator at all, but figured I'd keep going.
