Brief Description: Dimpling the rudder counterweight rib.
Another common question on the forums comes up that I discovered. Most of the tool kits that people bought (Cleaveland Tools in our case) don't come with a #10 sized dimple die. Since this is something that isn't used often, was it worth buying one or just work around? I found a lot of builders did a work around, so I figured I would do the same.
I took another spare chunk of Poplar from my wood scrap box and cut my own countersink. I then put the bolt into the hole with another piece of wood behind to prevent any damage to the threads. I gave it a good hard squeeze in my vise to allow the screw head to make it's own dimple. It worked ok when I took it apart. I also put it down on the bench with the wood facing up and gave it some good whacks with the mallet also to give it a nice dimple hole. Not totally perfect but once it was assempled it looks pretty good.

Squeezing the rib and die in the vise as hard as I could.
