Brief Description: Some fine tuning the elevator tab bends.
I wasn't happy with how the tabs were bent, I had some uneven folding in the bend of the tabs. I asked a few questions on Van's Air Force forum and got a mix of replies. I was kind of scared of messing with it more and risk cracking it or something, but I thought about it a lot and had to fix it. I put the wedge of wood back in the fold with tape to hold it tight. I then took another block of wood and used it to "aim" at the parts that I wanted to straighten out. Riveter air way down at about 12 psi and carfeully tapped it down. It worked out very well! The folds evened out and I won't feel bad when pre-flighting the plane and seeing that every time. There was a few minor touch-ups I did with a very slow and careful 90 psi riveter blasts.
Before. I hated the look of this.
After. Some careful riveter hammering through wood.
