Brief Description:  Six degrees of separation - bending spars

What I thought would be kind of scary, ended up not being a huge deal at all - bending the spar ends. First I completed the shaping of the taper on the second spar that I hadn't completed yesteerday. Worked very well and easier since I had some practice the day before!
Reading other builider sites, it seemed that most people have used the "hand bend" rather than Van's suggestion of holding wood against it and whacking with a mallet.
I made a template to show the desired 6 degree angle - on visual diagram and another cut out to hold against the part to check the angle.
I used a couple scraps of perf-board to protect the metal and give it an even spread on the pressure to bend it. Then clamped with vise grips. Some gentle and even pressure, and the part was bent! A few small tweaks to match my template and it was done.
Spars bent are the HS-710 and HS-714.

Success. The angles match each other and the template.
