As I said earlier, I decided to go out of order with my empennage. I started with the vertical stab. The only problem with this is that even this early, the instructions start making assumptions about what you know. The Horizontal Stab instructions are pretty detailed and go step by step. By the time you get to the empennage, it simply says "Build it."
I made it through clecoing the entire structure together and match drilling it. Then, I got to take it all apart and prep all of the holes and edges. Even after today, my forearm is sore. The lazy side of me wishes I had a set of pneumatic cleco pliers. We shall see how tired I get of it, or if my right forearm gets bigger than the left.
My DRDT-2 is finally covered with carpet and vinyl covering. The dimpling went well, but I already dimpled a wrong hole. I flattened it back out using a flush rivet set. I have not decided if I am going to get a new part. I think I am going to just take this lesson and build on.
