Built brake on my work bench IAW "27 years of the RVator." It worked pretty well and puts a lot of force on the rudder. I placed a 1/8" steel rod that I got at ACE on the inside to confirm that I had a nice rounded edge.
I wish I had a planer to clean up the edges of the wood in the brake. I spent 20 minutes finding the two straightest edges of wood, but there is a slight bend. The rudder has a very very slight bow in the middle that I think is from the wood. When I get it all riveted together, I am going to put the piece in the brake the opposite direction and gently bend it again. It turned out pretty good though.
