I have the engine siting on a tire right side up. For a while I thought that maybe this was a good way to store it until I needed it. Well, I couldn't stop think about how it was sitting on the exhaust manifold and possibly stressing I out.
I've seen other aircraft engine stands and they are normally stored with the prop attach face downward. I could have bought one for around $300 bucks or so. Instead I made this one out of two layers of 3/4” plywood. Notice the holes in the top layer to accommodation the prop bold spacers.
