Yep, Bought a RV-6A project.
Whats going on here. I just fit the canopy on my standard built RV-7A tip-up and I buy an older model RV-6A slider crashed roll over project. Let me explain. My good buddy Bruce Swayze is always checking out the VANS Air-force classifieds.

He knew I was getting close to needing an engine. One early morning March 5th 2015 I get an email from Bruce that says I should check out this “engine plus rolled over airplane” on Vans Air-force and he includes a link. Prior to opening up the link, my first thoughts were “Oh great, an old used up engine and crashed RV6-A airplane”. After opening up the link my thoughts were “Wow, a new engine, plus the entire airplane with 1/2 hour total time for $25,000. Its even my favorite color”. It took me literally 10 seconds before I quickly posted to the thread that I would take it. Bummer was that I was on travel in the eastern time zone and the project was in Oregon 3 hours earlier. It was 7am for me and 4am for the project owner Jerry. I was dieing to give Jerry a call to see if I was first in line to buy this engine and project. 3 hours I waited before I just couldn’t stand it any longer. 7am Jerry’s time I called and to my surprise, he was up and willing to talk about the project. I had one question, “Is the project still available?”. The words “Yes it is” was music to my ears. My next words were “I'll take it”. He says “Ok, fine. Don't you want to see it first?”. “Nope, Its mine and I'll buy it”. His next words were “Well, the person that buys it is the person that puts money in my hand first”. Crap. I live only an hour from Jerry but I'm currently on travel 3 times zones away. What to do. I'll call my dear wife Stephanie for help. The conversation was something like “Hey Steph. Found an engine and crashed airplane project on the web, could you please, please, grab $25,000 in cash and take it over and give it to Jerry right away to secure the deal?”.
