I started to work on the left hand rib #9 assembly and ran into a problem with the plans. Unfortunately, I did not discover the issue until after I trimmed the -09 clips incorrectly. On this assembly, the -09 clips are somewhat off-set as opposed to the way they are mounted on the right hand rib #9 assembly. Only three of the rivet holes are used and the corner of the clip that overhangs needs to be trimmed back. The plans show which corner to trim and states that this is typical of all 4 clips on the assembly. I went ahead and marked the trim lines and trimmed the clips per the plans. As I was assembling the clips to the vertical channels, I discovered that the corner I trimmed only applied to two of the clips. The other two clips require the opposite corner to be trimmed. Unfortunately, I don't have the raw stock to make two new clips, so I'll have to order them from Sonex at $4.75 a pop. Arrrrrgh!!!!!
Clips maked for trimming, as per the plans.
Plans stating the trimmed corner is typical for all four clips.
Trimmed corners. Unfortunately, two of the clps need their opposite corner trimmed.
