Brief Description: End wing attach assembly/SNX-W11-02
I finished the end wing attach assemblies today. I had some issues with my reamer. It doesn't seem to be large enough as the bolts are still very hard to get in. I tried a test with a larger reamer, 0.2480" diameter, but this was too loose, The 0.2470" reamer I have must not be that size but must be a little smaller. It was an inexpensive reamer so I guess you get what you pay for. If I need to do any more "tight fit" holes for AN4 bolts, I will get a new, better-quality reamer.
One thing I've noticed with the bolts that are called out in the plans. They all seem to be one size too long. I've noticed this with other assemblies I've already built. Not a problem since I just add an extra washer and this allows for the proper thread length. As such, I've ordered more washers to accommodate this issue.
Now, on to the wing spars. Yikes!
Parts clamped together and up-drilling to "tight fit" hole size.
Bolts needed an extra washer to keep the nuts from bottoming out.
Assemblies complete and torqued down to 70 inch-lbs.
