Brief Description: Vertical stabilizer and rudder work
I worked on the vertical stabilizer and the rudder today. I got the frame of the vertical stabilizer all cleco'd up and up-drilled to the #30 drill bit. I also drilled for the hinge that attaches to the vertical stabilizer.I still need to up-drill the last top rib and the small nose rib. I will get this all riveted up when my new riverter comes in.
I was not happy with the way I trimmed out the rudder skin, so I decided to do this again. There was enough material left on the rudder skin to make the elevators, so I will just re-cut that to make one of the elevators. The new skin came out much better. I then marked the holes for the ribs and got the center and end rib drilled and cleco'd. I still need to locate and drill the holes for the rudder control horn.
