Brief Description: Parts # SNX-14-08L/R(Forward wing attach angles)
I made parts #SNX-F14-08L/R (Forward Wing Attach Angles) today. This required closing the 90 degree angle to 86.1 degrees. The challenge with these parts are their length of 21.5". I can't bend it in one shot like previous parts that would fit within the width of the jaws of my vise.
I marked the angle into segmented areas that I knew would fit within the length of the vise jaws. I wasn't sure if the angle would bend straight or if it would be wavy/crooked after bending. Turns out that it bent straight afterall and was not as much of a challenge as I thought it would be.
I did screw up one of the parts, however. ARRRGH! Serves me right for losing focus on the band saw. I was trying to cut away some of the angle and went a little too far. The result was over an hour of wasted work and angle that I can't reuse. Oh well, better luck next time.
Angle segmented and ready for bending.
What happens when you lose focus. Another part that needs to be re-made.
