Brief Description: Made parts #SNX-F03-05L/R & -06L/R
I made parts# SNX-F03-05L/R(L/R hand angle fitting) and SNX F03-06L/R(L/R hand attach fitting) today. This was the first time I had to alter the angle degrees to a different amount. I had to do this with the attach fittings and I needed to close up the angle from 90 degrees to 86.1 degree.
I accomplished this by closing the angle in my vise, but this required two different attempts. The first time I tried this, I used the rubber soft jaws in my vise to keep from marking up the edges of the aluminum angle. Although I was able to get the correct angle, the sides of the angle got a bow in them. I guess the thick rubber jaw protectors must not have applied even pressure against the angle and allowed the sides to bow. I remade these parts but this time I used scrap aluminum angle as the soft jaws. This worked perfectly, as it was stiff enough to keep the sides from bowing in.
Left side angle has a straight side. The right side angle's side is bowed in.
Using the vise with scrap aluminum soft jaws to close up the angle.
