Brief Description: Shock strut piston rod gouge and fitting part 2
The piston rods were sanded down using course, medium, fine, 400, and 600 emery cloth and sandpaper. The rods now slide nicely in the brass caps. I measured the springs to determine the maximum possible compression to ensure that the rods would not bind in the caps even if the landing gear "bottomed out".
