Brief Description: Fabricated Tie down attachment brackets and spacer
Before the wing ribs straightening, I fabricated the spacers and the tiedown brackets. As per plans, drilled a centering hole in both tiedown brackets. This hole aligns the bracket on the spar for drilling the remaining holes in the bracket. Poicture 1 shows the bracket drilled along with the spacers drilled for nutplates. The nutplates and spacers get riveted together with the tiedown bracket only. Then the assembly is bolted to the wing spar with the mounting brackets for the aleiron control system. Picture 2 shows the brackets and the aleiron control attached to the aft side of the wing spar.Picture 3 shows the tiedown bracket on the front side of the wing spar. Also, as per plans, the lower hole in the tiedown bracket was tapped for a 3/8 tiedown ring.
