Brief Description:  Firewall forward fuel lines

More work on the fuel lines. The fuel from the wing tanks comes through the firewall at the bottom left corner of the firewall (bulkhead fitting), then routes to the gascolator, from the output side of the gascolator to a fuel pump, up through a fuel filter, and on to the engine-driven fuel pump, out to a distribution manifold and to the carbs.

The fuel lines by necessity run in close proximity to the exhaust system and cylinder/head assemblies of the engine. Rans recommends sheathing all fuel and oil lines in fire sleeve, but they do not provide the material. I ordered the appropriate stratoflex fire sleeve from Aircraft Spruce. It is pretty pricey.

Today I ran the lines from the bulkhead to the gascolator, and on to the electric fuel pump, including the fire sleeve. Photo #1 shows the fuel line coming through the firewall and curving up to the gascolator. You can also see the electric fuel pump mounted on the aft engine mount tubes with padded clamps. The fuel line exits the "top" of the fuel pump and heads up to the in-line fuel filter.
