Brief Description: install new elbows on water pump
I ordered two replacement elbow fittings for the water pump housing. The elbows are fitted with a special loctite product that provide a watertight seal. The loctite can be softened with heat and the elbows removed, but it is very difficult to clean the threads, and the elbows are made of very soft material. As I mentioned in a previous post, I damaged one of the elbows, and did not like the looks of the threads on a second elbow.
I ordered replacement elbows from California Power Systems, who fortunately had them in stock. I ordered the Loctite product (and several other special Loctite products) from a local supplier. One the elbows and the Loctite came in, I installed the elbows in the water pump housing and installed the housing onto the water pump at the rear of the motor.
