Brief Description: fastening skylite into position
The skylite is fastened to the ribs using aluminum pulled rivets. I had pre-drilled both the ribs and the top trim strips prior to moving the plane to the airport, to the work left was cleco'ing the skylite in place, then installing all the rivets.
If I build another plane that uses a lot of pulled rivets I will probably invest in a pneumatic riverter, but for this project I am using a good quality manual hand-squeeze rivet tool. By the time I had installed all of the clecos, removed them one at a time, and then inserted and pulled rivets in each spot my hand grip strength was about done.
After installing the rivets I removed all of the plastic and masking material I had used to protect the skylite from scratches.
